In my approach to teaching, I follow active learning models, where students learn through direct rather than passive engagement with the material (e.g., learning by doing).  This often includes movement in the classroom, group problem solving, students acting as scaffolds for their own and others' learning, and projects that directly engage students with course content (e.g., building avatars in a virtual world).

Select Feedback from Students

"She was very passionate about psychology... She incorporated interesting teaching methods that held our attention, and she cleared very confusing elements of the class up.  She did a great job."

"She took a difficult subject that can be rather dry, and made it very interesting. Not only that, but she could explain concepts in multiple ways, making statistics accessible to the average student...I now look forward to graduate level statistics wholeheartedly, instead of dreading it and possibly turning away from it."

"...very respectful of what students had to say and made it a safe environment to discuss topics like trigggers, mental illness, and student resistance."
